PRK, now 20/300 without Scleral Lens

The 2 photos below are of an eye that underwent multiple eye surgeries including PRK surgery several years ago. Look carefully and you can see blood vessel growth along the corneal surface, where blood vessels do not belong. Also note the grey haze on the cornea opposite the pupil. This cornea is very irregular and the patient’s vision in this eye is less than 20/300. With a scleral lens, this patient is able to attain 20/40 vision in this eye. The corneal haze seen in these photos is due to the PRK surgery.
