3D of Highly Myopic Cornea post-Lasik

This image below is a 3-D rendition of a highly myopic cornea that underwent LASIK surgery. There was so much corneal tissue removed that the front surface of the cornea is literally a flat surface like a table top. There is no way for this patient to have functional vision with this eye with eyeglasses or conventional contact lenses. In addition, there is no surgical procedure that will create a smooth, spherical surface to this eye. In addition, RLE will not provide quality vision to this patient's eye. This patient is wearing a scleral lens over this eye which is allowing this patient to function visually once again.
